At Lit'l Scholar Academy, we know that not every child needs a full day program. That's why we offer an innovative 2 ½ hour class designed to meet the needs of parents who want their children to get an educational running start. It's a fun, structured and age-appropriate course that's also surprisingly affordable. There's no better way to prepare your child for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Your child must be potty trained and at least two and a half years of age before beginning class.
Lit'l Scholar Academy's Preschool Achievement Program focuses on promoting your child's growth in the following areas:
Social & Emotional
As teachers and parents, we understand that every child is unique. Our mission is to help them see what wonderful individuals they are, with their own special skills, personalities, likes, and dislikes. By helping children be happy with who they are, we strengthen their sense of value as people.
Preschool Achievement will help your child:
- Feel secure & trust others in a social environment
- Have a positive sense of his or her own identity
- Develop a healthy self-concept and self-esteem
- Be curious, confident, and eager to learn
- Regulate behavior in relation to the situation
- Build caring relationships with other people
- Cooperate with teachers and other children
Cognitive
Children have a natural pride in what they can do. When they know they are able to do things, they are motivated from inside to try new things. At Lit'l Scholar Academy, children discover how fun and exciting learning can be.
Preschool Achievement will help your child:
- Develop speaking and listening skills and increase vocabulary
- Learn literacy skills such as phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, print awareness, early writing, and knowledge of and appreciation for books
- Use art, music and movement as a means of self-expression
- Learn mathematical concepts such as numbers, counting, patterns, and reasoning
- Recognize real problems and figure out solutions
- Think critically and logically, ask questions
Physical
All children enjoy active play and we believe that physical activity is an important part of learning.
Preschool Achievement will help your child:
- Develop a strong, well-coordinated body
- Gain fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination
